Dr. Mohammad Sherafatmand
CEO, Founder & Executive Director
Moh earned his PhD in environmental engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Following this, he served as a postdoc at NUS before establishing Hydroleap. With a deep passion for environmental issues, Moh firmly believes that climate change is the most significant challenge facing our planet. He is committed to the idea that sustainable businesses, both commercially and technologically, are vital to preserving our environment, rather than relying solely on non-governmental organizations.

Allan Toh
Chief Operating Officer
Allan is an experienced Head of Operations with a diverse background in Chemical, Mechanical, and Industrial Aqua-engineering industries. With over 29 years of experience, he is skilled in Water Infrastructural Engineering & Treatment, Construction, Membrane Separations, and Management. In addition, Allan volunteers his time to bring clean water to aqua-stressed communities in Asia, showcasing his commitment to environmental and water-related well-being.

Dr. Lakshmi Jothinathan
Head of R&D
Lakshmi is an experienced researcher with a Ph.D. focused on ozonation for organic degradation from the National University of Singapore. With a demonstrated history of working in higher education, she is skilled in advanced oxidation processes, ozonation processes, wastewater treatment, catalyst synthesis, and electrochemistry. Currently, she serves as the Head of Research and Development at Hydroleap and leads the charge in finding innovative solutions for the water treatment industry.

Head of People & Culture
Desmond has over 10 years of progressive HR experience across MNCs and high-growth start-ups with broad business partnering and generalist experience. He specializes in helping companies grow through differentiated talent acquisition and talent management strategies. Desmond holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology and is passionate about helping deep tech start-ups deliver an impact on the world.

Dr. Michael Gryseels
Non-executive Director, Chairman
Michael is an experienced CEO, board member, co-founder, advisor, and investor in technology-enabled businesses. He is passionate about disruptive technologies' ability to address global challenges. Currently, he leads True Digital Group, the innovation arm of True Corporation, overseeing a team of 2,000 employees across several countries, which serves over 35 million active users. Michael's commitment also extends to supporting deep-tech companies, sustainability, diversity initiatives, and reducing inequality.

Louis Murayama
Non-executive Director
Louis brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and business acumen to his role as Director. He holds an M.Sc. from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and served as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow in Poland. He has advised companies on M&A, PMI, and TSR maximization, and created new businesses using deep learning. After working at Boston Consulting and ACES, he now serves as Executive Director at Real Tech Holdings Singapore, where he provides strategic advice to deep-tech startups.

Paul Santos
Non-executive Director
Paul is the Managing Partner of Wavemaker Partners, a VC firm that invests in early-stage enterprise, deep tech, and sustainability startups in SEA. With US$300 million in assets under management across four funds, the firm has backed 190+ companies, with 25 exits and acqui-hires valued at over US$1.8 billion. Notable portfolio companies include ecoSpirits, Silent Eight and Vigo. He is also one of the founding partners of Wavemaker Impact, and chairs the investment committee for ADB Ventures.

Prof. Ng How Yong
Advisor
Prof Ng is a Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor at Beijing Normal University, and an Adjunct Professor at NUS in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is a fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore and the International Water Association. He also specializes in biological wastewater treatment, membrane processes for water reuse and desalination, and has extensive consulting experience in Asia and the United States. He also bears a PhD in Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley.
